I am currently advertising a postdoctoral researcher role for someone to join our Oxford-based Gram-Negative Antibiotic Discovery Innovator (Gr-ADI) project,

Discovery of Novel Klebsiella Hits Through In-Depth Genomic Profiling, Fragment-Based Drug Design and Accumulation Assays.

The principal investigator is Annette von Delft and the role will be supervised by me and based in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. The idea is to conduct high-throughput alchemical free energy calculations on target-lead structures to assess which single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) will reduce the binding free energy of the antibiotic and therefore could lead to resistance. Our hypothesis is that choosing a potential lead that minimises the number of SNPs that do this will delay the onset of resistance in the clinic. There is much more detail in the online job advert but if you want to know more please send me an email.

Note that we ask applicants to complete the provided supporting evidence form to help us fairly shortlist for interview – CVs alone will not be considered. The deadline is 12 noon (GMT) on Wednesday 18 November 2026.
